A floor plan of the first fifty districts, spiralling out from the centre
the first fifty districts — not a drawing, the actual plan the game generates

Nobody designed this dungeon

Every room is a block of a real, public chain. Its shape comes out of that block's hash, its weather and its stone come from what the block contains, and every corridor is a transaction somebody once made. A quiet block from 2010 is a single hallway going nowhere. A busy one is a warren.

There are around nine hundred thousand of them, and a new one arrives every ten minutes or so. No level designer, no asset packs, no ending. It was all there before anybody thought to walk it.

What it plays like

Clear the room

Each district has occupants the block itself seeded — how many from its traffic, what they look like from its hash. The way onward stays shut until the room is clear.

Always from the middle

You start at the first block ever mined, with the headline its author left on the wall, and walk outward. Walking away from the centre is walking forward in time.

Other people

It is one dungeon, not a copy each. Somebody else wandering the same districts is there, and you can walk into them.

Things written on walls

Where a transaction carried a message, it is up beside the door. Most carry nothing, and a blank corridor is the truth.

The part most games do not say

The world is built from a public blockchain, which is where the endlessness comes from. You do not need to know or care what that is — there is no wallet, no coin, nothing to buy inside it, and nothing about it on screen while you play.

If you do care: the chain is BSV, the world is generated by a protocol called Vulpine, and the same dungeon is walkable from the Vulpine wallet, which is free.
